Aren’t You Tired?
Aren’t you tired of going backward? Aren’t you tired of almost making it, almost reaching your goals, almost finding happiness? Aren’t you tired of beating yourself down and always seeing the worst, never realizing the goodness that is within you? Aren’t you tired of pretending? Pretending that everything is good when you’re falling apart? Aren’t you tired of being the butt of the joke just to have someone pay attention to you? Aren’t you tired of settling for less when you feel it in your soul that God has more? Aren’t you tired of keeping people around you who beat you down instead of building you up? Aren’t you tired of feeling hopeless, lost, and alone? Aren’t you tired of giving your body up and leaving pieces of you with people who never wanted to see you whole? Aren’t you tired of dabbling in the things of this world, which only keep you searching for your true meaning? Aren’t you tired of performing below who you were created to be? Aren’t you tired of letting alcohol and drugs define who you are? Because once the high is gone, emptiness swallows you once again. Aren’t you tired of filling your voids with temporary satisfaction and temporary solutions? Aren’t you tired of giving up too soon? Aren’t you tired of losing?

David’s Prayer
I could go on and on, but if you’re tired and want to take a step in the opposite direction from what’s been plaguing you, I want to pray for you today. I know what it’s like to be tired; I know what it’s like to set a goal and fail to reach it repeatedly. I understand what it’s like to beat yourself up for missing the mark time and time again. It wasn’t until I surrendered and was honest with the Lord, desperate for Him to see me and help me, that I began to break free from the things that had a hold on me. David said in Psalm 86:1-7,
1 Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
3 Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
4 Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
5 O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
6 Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
7 I will call to you and you will answer me.
whenever I’m in trouble.
What this prayer shows me is that I don’t need to shield myself with pride when I speak to the Lord. I can come tired, broken, and unsure, yet still have the confidence to know that my God will bend down and check on me when I call. This means he would do the same for you!
My Prayer for You
Father God, I thank you for being great and almighty. I thank you for loving us and keeping us, even though we are not deserving of it. Lord, it brings me great comfort to know that you are always near (Ps 34:10). Today, I draw on your strength to pray for your people because being tired has taken a toll on them (Isa 40:28). Lord, I desire to always pray for the one person who really needs to hear your voice, the one who truly needs to be comforted by you, and the one who isn’t sure about what to do next. As they read this prayer, Lord, fill them with your cleansing fire and give them the desire and strength to fight against the norms and walk toward you.
There is no distance in the spirit, so as you read this prayer, I believe that the Lord will begin to do a work in you.
Father God, I ask that you begin to heal every deep-rooted pain in their soul today. There is trauma that is keeping them from moving forward, and there are past pains that hold them back. Lord, I ask that you begin to mend their broken hearts, restore their identities, and pull them out of every past affliction right now! Lord, let them become desperate for your touch. When your people were tired of being in chains of bondage and darkness, that’s when they cried out for help. I pray that they cry out today so that you can lead them out of darkness and break every chain of oppression off of their lives (Ps 107:13-14). I speak to that spirit in you, that spirit of self-sabotage, that spirit of depression, that spirit of doubt, and I command it to leave in Jesus’ name! Father God, many people are struggling and looking to the wrong sources for fulfillment; they are leading with their hearts in dangerous places, and they are blind, unable to see that they are being used as tools to bring destruction into their own lives. Father, I pray that you open their eyes today, so they cannot only see you, but also the enemy that opposes them. I pray that you begin to change their appetite from the things of this world to a hunger for your heart! With the rush of information, constant comparison is always taking place, causing them to miss their destiny as they chase after others. Lord, I pray that they see you chose them, so they won’t constantly seek the validation of others (1 Pet 2:9).
Father God, many of your people are hurting, and they choose to numb the pain or drown their sorrow with substances that abuse their bodies and further torment their souls. Lord, remove every desire from them now! I command that spirit of addiction to loose them now! Some may not struggle with this issue, but are addicted to attention and self-obsession, always looking to what they can gain. Let every narcissistic spirit be broken now in Jesus’ name! Lord, don’t allow their hands to dabble in cursed things, for false power and false protection. Holy Spirit, lead and guide them so their tiredness does not lure them in by the enemy. James 1:14-15 says, “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death.” Lord, close every door that was opened in ignorance and open the doors that would lead them to freedom in you!
Father God, I pray that as you heal your people, you grant them peace. Please help them understand and instill in them a desire to know your word. Provide them with the strength to abide in you! Give them the patience and allow them to be victorious in this season. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
Aren’t you tired of running away?
